Motivation is not a constant. Your coach should know that.
Most health advice assumes you will feel like following it. MindState assumes you sometimes will not, and changes its approach when you do not.

You already know the pattern
There are stretches where you cannot imagine skipping a workout or ordering the worse thing. And there are stretches where you know exactly what you should be doing and cannot make yourself do any of it. Nothing about you changed in between. The state did.
A plan written for the first version of you is useless to the second one. That is not a discipline problem, it is a design problem.
So it works from what is true today
MindState reads what you have actually been logging, what you are taking, how you slept, and which things you have told it you will never do. Then it asks for one specific next thing, sized to the state you are in right now.
When you have momentum it helps you build something that survives the dip. When you do not, it lowers the bar until you can step over it.
What you give it
- Whatever just happened. "I drank a full glass of water." "Here is what I ate." A photo. One line is enough.
- Your own context. Age, known conditions, what you are aiming at.
- What you are taking. Medications and supplements, so nothing it suggests fights with one.
- What you like and what you refuse. The best exercise is the one you will actually do.
- Your records. Upload a blood panel and it reads the numbers out for you in plain words.
- Your Whoop. Sleep and recovery pulled in, so it stops guessing at how your night went.
What it gives back
- A morning read. One short message built on what actually happened this week, not a template.
- A reply to anything you log. Including the entries you would rather not have written down.
- A coach to argue with. Ask it why, tell it you are not doing that, and it works out something else.
- A warning when it matters. Some things are not a journal entry. If you describe one, MindState says so before it says anything else, and it does not need the AI to be working to do it.
About your data
Your journal, profile, medications and uploaded records are encrypted before they are written to disk. Nothing is sold, nothing is shared with advertisers, nothing trains a model. You can download everything as one file, and you can delete the whole account, from inside the app, without asking anybody.
